Sir, my name is Advika. I would like to learn about the sources to reconstruct the Delhi Sultanate.
Ok Advika, first lets talk about the literary sources. Tarikh-i-Firozshashi is an important work in medieval India. Written by Ziauddin Barni, it gives an account of the political, social, and economic conditions prevailing in India during those times.Prithvirajraso is an epic poem written by Chand Bardai. The poem narrates the heroic exploits of Prithviraj Chauhan who ruled Ajmer and Delhi from AD 1165 to AD 1192. It gives us glimpses of the socio-political condition of the country at that time.
The Delhi Sultanate had various magnificent monuments. One of the best examples is the Qutab Minar in Delhi. It derives its name from a Muslim Saint known as Qutab-Ud-Din. It has various features such a 72.5 metre tall tower and five storeys tapering as they ascend. There were also few inscriptions such as Pehowa Inscription and Sarban Inscription.
