- A woman lashed on her bedroom bed, weeping on how her parents have turned their backs on giving their daughter a chance to live a life of not just being a wife and an ornament to society but become an independent woman.

- Adelaide's parents forbade her into education, pertaining to it as a disgrace and such a sinful act for such a young girl.
- But Adelaide has had more than enough of the limitations offered by the bitter society to her gender.
