- NEWTONS 1ST LAW OF MOTION
- Newtons first law also known as the law of inertia, is the tendency of an object to stay at rest or in motion. The more mass an object has the more inertia it has.
- Newtons first law states an object in motion will stay in motion and an object at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. The object being the ball and the force being the blue player.
- NEWTONS 2ND LAW OF MOTION
- Newtons second law basically says the amount of mass times the acceleration is equal to the force of an object.
- Riding your bike is a good example of this law of motion at work. Your leg muscles pushing on the pedals of your bike is the force. When you push on the pedals, your bike accelerates. The forces you are applying = your mass time the acceleration of the bike. The more force applied the more speed you will have.
- NEWTONS 3RD LAW OF MOTION
- Newtons third law says for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction. In outer space, on the moon objects have more momentum than on earth.
- There is less gravity on the moon then on earth so if an astronaut jumps on the moon they will have more momentum.
