- Hey Monica, how are you? I am a bit confused about the science homework, can you help me?
- Of course!
- I am confused about Newtons First Law of Motion
- The Law of Inertia means that an object in motion stays in motion, or an object at rest stays at rest until an unbalanced net forceacts up on it
- Come on, lets go try it!
- As you can see, the soccer ball lays on the ground at rest until someone kicks it. Once I kick it it wont stop until it looses its momentum, if I miss the shot, or it will get stopped by the net of the goal.
- That helped me so much, thank you!
- Monica and I meet up at school but I am confused about the science homework.
- Of course I can help you. Newtons Third Law of Motion is for every action, or force, thier is an equal and opposite reaction
- I ask Monica for help. She explains Newton's First Law of Motion, or The Law of Inertia, very well and she wants to show me an example.
- For example, if I were to jump, my legs would apply a force to the ground, and the ground would then apply an equal and opposite reaction force that propels me into the air.
- Monica brings me to the soccer field to then show me her example.
