- I'm sorry to leave you here. I never imagined this is how it would end, Mei.
- Call to Adventure
- He's in the hospital, Mei! Go see him!
- Zane? Uncle Adam's in the hospital?!
- In the middle of spring, a woman and a demon were welcomed with a child in the Underworld. A daughter, as it seemed. The demon was not so happy to hear this...in fact, he was angry. In a fit of rage, he sent his baby's mother to send his daughter off into the real world.
- Call to Adventure
- Mei, I have not been true to you all this time...the truth is...your mom is still alive. Find her and bring her back for me.
- The baby, named Mei, was unfortunately left at the doorstep of her uncle's house as her mother had left her there per her demon husband's request. Mei's mother was miserable, as she had left her only child behind with her brother, knowing Mei would have a better life without her parents in the picture anyway.
- Call to Adventure
- You are actually half-demon and half-human as well. Please, she's stuck in the Underworld. Please go there and bring her back for me before I die.
- Okay, Uncle. Fine. I'll do it for you since you've done a lot for me.
- Now 17 years later, Mei has begun working in her Uncle Adam's convenience store. One day in the middle of summer, her cousin Zane had broken the news of her uncle being in the hospital.
- The Challenges or Trials
- Wow, this place is definitely...not cool at all. It's scary. Wait, who are you?!
- Who am I?! WHO ARE YOU! LEAVE BEFORE I PUT YOU TO BITS!
- Now visiting her uncle in the hospital, Mei sees her uncle in a hospital bed, looking more tired and sad by the hour. Since he knows he can't recover from this...he finally decides to break the news to Mei. Her uncle tells her that her mother to still being alive and to bring her back from the Underworld, as he would like to see his sister one last time. Mei refuses at first, as she is scared to believe such a thing.
- WHAT?! I'm not too sure, Uncle! This is too much
- Her Uncle Adam has yet more to say! Mei is revealed to be half-demon from her father's side and half-human on her mother's side. Her Uncle Adam pleads again, saying Mei should go for him and her mother. Realizing how much her uncle has done for her, she finally takes up the offer and accepts it.
- With Mei's Uncle Adam's instructions, she finally enters the Underworld with a terrible welcome. She is greeted by a screaming black spirit, yelling at her saying she should leave already. She's horrified, and runs out of the cave and finds an exit immediately.
