Storyboard Szöveg

  • Your son will be...
  • He will be a mighty KING!!
  • Oh my!
  • Siddhartha Gautama was born a prince in Nepal. One day, his father took him to a fortune teller to find out his future. The fortune teller informed the king that he would either grow up to become a mighty king or a supreme religious ruler. However the king was determined to have Siddhartha become the future ruler no matter what.
  • Siddhartha grew up wearing beautiful clothing in a golden palace. He lived his childhood not experiencing, let alone even knowing about anything related to pain, suffering or death. Whenever Siddhartha would go outside on a chariot his father would have guards ahead of them shooing off anyone in the streets who seemed to be appearing unpleasant.
  • As Siddhartha grew older he decided that he wanted to see the outside world for himself. He left the palace by himself and while outside he saw the four passing sights. First, he saw an old man weakly leaning on a cane, then a diseased man suffering, next a dead body laying on the road, and last, one holy man who was homeless and had nothing, yet appeared to be joyful.
  • You must understand..
  • Siddhartha decided that he needed to find the truth of life, so he joined a group of ascetics who taught him self denial. He denied himself of all physical comforts. He wore minimal clothing, rarely bathed, and ate practically nothing. However, one day, Siddhartha woke up and realized that he was not going to find the truth through self denial even though he had been practicing it for over 5 years.
  • Once Siddhartha had stabilized his body again, he chose to continue his search for the truth. This time, he decided to sit meditating under a fig tree, for 49 days, in hope to connect with God. After his long search for the truth of life, Siddhartha finally understood the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. He had reached enlightenment.
  • Since Siddhartha had reached his enlightenment, he was now named Buddha. Although he had reached a wonderful state of pure joy, Buddha chose to spend his years traveling across India to spread his knowledge to others. He taught people the true meaning of life and the way to escape the repeating cycle of life, death and rebirth.
