- What had she said her name was? Awful -- was that it? Miss Awful! Biting his lip, he listened to her scathing comments.

- We got a witch for a new teacher. It's the truth., "Know what children are to her? Plants! She did, she called us plants.
- "My shoes aren’t shined he wailed. "Not what Miss Awful calls shined. Where's the polish? I can't leave till I do 'em over."

- Roger Wont go to School
- Roger gave Mrs Orvillie the name Mrs Awful because she was very strict and he did not like that, he also didnt do his homework the day before, so she was comenting on that.
- Bye Plant
- She was staring at the plant on the windowsill, which she had not noticed before. The stalks twisted up bare and naked, where the leaves had been torn off.
- Roger got home from school and he is explaining what happend at school, and how he felt. Roger hates her, and her class.
- Sorry Mrs Orvile
- "F- l-o-w-e-r.
- C-a-s-t-l-e.
- Roger refuses to go to school, because Mrs Awfuls class is unbareable for him, he does not like school. He used to think school was entertaining now its the oppisite.
- To get back at Mrs Awful, the students in her class including Roger, cut the plant, so now all the leaves were dead, this was very cruel of them knowing that she loved her plant.
- Roger stays behind noticing how sad and depressed she is, he spells the words Flower and Castle, to show her he learned something, in the end Roger learns to respect her.
