Persephone was the daughter of Demeter, the Earth Goddes. Persephone was playing alone in a field of flowers. Chirp! Went the beautful birds flying by on this wondeful day .
Make Hades let Persephone go, or the world will be cold and dark forever!!!
Suddenly she heard a loud noise. Bang!!! The ground opend up, and they sky turned gray. It was Hades, the god of the underworld. He stole Persephone and took her to be his wife in the underworld.
Let Persephone go!!!
I will let her go, but she ate pomegranate seeds, and she has to come back every few months!!
When Persephone didn't come home that night, Demeter grew sad, and the Earth turned brown, cold, and dark. The Earth's first winter had arrived.
Demeter figured out what had happened, she went the talk to the king of all gods, Zeus. Demeter told him that if he didn't make Hades let Persephone go, then the Earth would we cold, brown, and dark forever.
Zeus agreed and told Hades to let Persephone go. But, Persephone had eaten a few pomegranate seeds in the underworld! Oh No!!! For every pomegranate seeds she ate, that's how many months she had to stay with Hades in the underworld.
So, Hades let Persephone go, and she returned to her mother Demeter. Demeter was so happy! But, in a few months, she had to leave, and go to Hades in the underworld. Everytime Persephine left, Demter grew sad, and winter came. But when she returend, Demeter was happy, and summer began.
