- There are different symbolisms in the movie, such as the characters themselves. The mother symbolizes mother nature, the father symbolizes God and their child is the equivalent of Jesus Christ. As we can see at the later part of the movie, the baby was consumed which symbolizes Jesus Christ’s crucifixion and death at the hands of the people. The people ravaging through the house depicts us killing the Earth for its resources. How about you, father? What is your favorite part about this movie?
