Storyboard Szöveg

  • Principle 1 and 6Communication and Critical Thinking
  • Close your eyes and think about what life would be like without clean air, land, water, or constant excessive noise. Now, open your eyes and draw what you visualised in your whiteboards. Turn and talk to your neighbour about your drawing.
  • Principle 6Communication
  • Litter! Smoke! Oil spillages!
  • Talk amongst each other about the things that might contaminate our water, air and land.
  • To contaminate is to make something dirty.
  • Principle 3 and 5Communication and Collaboration
  • Today we will be learning about pollution. Pollution is anything that makes our Earth dirty and unhealthy. Like land pollution, air pollution, water pollution and air pollution.
  • Land pollution is when we dirty our land by littering. Air pollution is when smoke, dust, gases get into the air and make it unclean. Water pollution--when litter and chemicals harm fish and animals that need water to live.
  • Paper! Noise! Bottles and cans! Smoke!
  • We will be stepping outside to look for pollution. What do you think we will find?
  • Probing questions to help learners visualise better:In the near future, if i do not take care of the planrt, will I have clean drinking water? Will I have clean soil to plant trees, fruit and vegeteables? Will I have a clean playground to play in and clean air to breathe in?'
  • Principle 3 and 5Critical thinking, Communication, Collaboration
  • I saw litter on the ground and in the river.
  • Let's go over the categories of data you collected--see, smell, hear.
  • Prompts to help learners answer:What happens when we throw dirt on the ground?Think of the smoke that comes from cars and firms and what it does to the air.Think also about the dirt in the rivers, dams and seas
  • Principles ContinuedCommunication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking
  • Noise pollution is any disturbing noise that affects the health and wellbeing of animals and people. Animals do not cause noise pollution
  • Probing questions:Do you think we will find a clean place with no pollution?Do you think the only sound we will hear are birds chirping? Will we find clean water?
  • Principle 4 and 5Communication, Collaboration, Creativity
  • I want you to create a brochure talking about pollution, using the data you collected. Your brochure will have three sections.
  • Probing questions:Do any of the same items appear in different categories? If so, do you agree with were those items were put?Can something polluting two different thing, such as air and water, or land and water? Can people always see, smell and hear pollution?
  • I smelled an awful stench coming from the pile of dirt on the side of the road.
  • I heard loud music and cars honking.
  • Probing questions continued:Birds chirp daily and dogs bark, too, and other animals make different noises. Does this mean they are causing noise pollution? What about firecrackers? Are they a form of noise pollution?
  • Firecrackers cause noise pollution because they put wellbeing of animals and people in danger. They create a disturbing noise.
  • I will model to learners how to create a brochure. Today we learnt different types of pollution. We learnt that our senses can help us detect pollution. We should not litter, contaminate water and air.
  • In the first section you will talk about the type of pollution, the second section, the causes, and on the last section, how it can be prevented. You can work together.
