- The story The Retake by Jen Calonita is about a 12-year-old girl named Zoe who is very excited about going into 7th grade in the fall! But Zoe notices something very strange: Her BFF, Laura does not hang around her that much anymore, and then Zoe learns that Laura is ditching her to new friends. Zoe is very upset, but then she finds this very weird app on her phone that can transport her to the past. Can Zoe redeem her friendship through time?

- Person 1: Zoe, The main character Person 2: Laura, Zoe's former BFF The group: The popular people, whom Laura is friends with. there is really no setting because Zoe is going in MANY different places.

- ME: C U @ 5!!!! Laura: K This is the beginning of the story when Zoe invites Laura over at her house because Zoe is secretly throwing a secret birthday party for Zoe. But this is also the part when Zoe finds out that Laura is ditching her because when Laura does not come on time, Zoe was trying to call when she saw a picture of Laura and the popular girls celebrating on Instagram.

- " Whats this app on my phone?" This is the middle of the story when Zoe finds out that she has this weird app on her phone that can transport her back to the past by using her pictures. Zoe goes in the past to try to redeem her friendship by trying to keep Zoe away from the popular girls. But that does not work.
- " Good luck for 7th grade!" I say with a grin on my face" This is the end of the story when Zoe does NOT get to redeem her BFF relationship with Laura through time, but she does find friendship with new fiends such as Clare, Jada, and Reagan.
- In this story, the moral/lesson of the story is that you can NEVER fix things from the past. Another theme was even if you lose a friend, you can always make a new one. Many friendships will await you, waiting to be found.
- I learned my lesson. I hope you learned it too!
