- ExpositionMontresor runs into an old "friend" at a carnival in Italy. Fortunato loves wine. Montresor offers him some wine. Little does Fortunato know, Montresor seeks revenge on Fortunato.
- Climax
- Fortunato was one of Montresor's old 'friends". Montresor claims that Fortunato insulted him. Though the author doesn't tell us, the insults were unforgivable. Montresor seeks revenge.
- Falling Action
- Montresor! Stop!
- Montresor lures Fortunato. Montresor tells him that there is Amontillado in the cellar. Amontillado is a type of wine. Fortunato continues to follow.
- Resolution
- Montresor and Fortunato arive to their destination. There is no Amontillado. There is a hole in the wall. Montresor puts Fortunato in there. Montresor begins to seal the hole.
- As Fortunato's drunkness wears off, he realizes wht Montresor is doing. He yells for Montresor to stop. It is to late. Montresor had sealed the hole.
- As Montresor walks away, all you can hear is the yells of Fortunato. Montresor had succeded. Fortunato was stuck forever. Montresor had gotton his revenge. I really enjoyed this story. I like how suspenseful it was leading up to the climax.
