- Margaret Thatcher elected 1979.
- The Miners Strike began.
- Thatcher decides to fight against the Miners.
- Margaret was elected the first female Prime Minister in the UK.
- The strike lead to violence.
- Margaret Thatcher closed down the mines due to them not making any money shortly after this Arthur Scargill begins an illegal strike. It was illegal as a vote wasn't taken.
- Margaret Thatcher decides to fight against the Miners because of her recent success with the Faulkland islands. She believed that with her support from her recent victory she could go against the miners. She did this with a 6 month supply of coal for UK as well as a deal with non unionised drivers to transport it and doing so creating a 3 day week to conserve energy.
- Police officers were placed all over the UK to stop protesters which then lead to violence. The police weren't allowed to unionise or strike which helped Margaret win against the miners.
- Protesters threw coal of a bridge trying to stop or divert a van full of miners heading to work, however in doing this accidently dropped it on top of a taxi driver killing him and turning the public against their cause.
