- he wants to kill the old man because of his fake eye and he watches the old man as he sleeps and for the past seven nights, but tonight is the 8th night and his eye is open, and the past seven nights hes been trying to kill the old man but he could not because his eye is closed but to night its open and that makes him mad.

- so he put the materess over the old man and holds it there until the old man dyes but befor he diead he got a scream out.

- After killing the old man he cuts his body into pieces in the bath tub and putting the body under the floor board and rinsing the blood and leaving no evidence behind.
- Later on cops come to the house knocking syaing that the next door neibors heard a scream next door. poe lets them inside the house out of despite. He brings them exactly to the place where he killed the man feeling so much pride for how good he hid the body. Soon when he has his chair over the body he starts to hear a loud heart beat thinking its the old mans heart. He thingk the body is still alive.
