- Mom, what was the Q'emiln landfill like when you were my age?
- Oh little one, when I was your age Q'emiln was a park.
- Its rivers were full of salmon, the forest was crawling with life, and nature was all around us.
- Q'emiln Park
- You could get lost in the idea of being secluded from civilization for hours
- The park was once maintained and well taken care of...
- South Dam
- ..but sometimes less is more..
- ..and as everyone's carelessness grew...
- ..and the presence of people became more evident..
- Q'emiln Park lost its battle with people, and has since been converted into a landfill.
- Yes it is mommy. I wish I could see the same world you did!
- Q'emiln's a lot different now isn't it sweetie?
- If only people had done what was best for the environment and stayed away
- You could have. Q'emiln is only one example near us of the change that has befallen our world.
- Those in charge of the park had hoped that in the future they could "also provide the means to reuse treated wastewater for the benefit of this natural ecosystem."
- The local people used the area when they should have been home. They put of their own interests and desires before the needs of the land itself.
- For years people abused the gift of nature that was given to them
- It is time to change!Appreciate the beauty, don't destroy it.
- It was just a dream
