- Father Mosley has brought Samuel into the chapel to show what someone has done on the lords table. Someone has pooped on the table inside of the chapel!!
- This where Samuel's name was turned to Friday and got sold to a young fella by the name of Gerald. His mother thought it was appropriate to make sure he knew how buying a slave works.
- Gerald wanted to show Mrs. Allen that all of their slaves are talented because they can read. Samuel had a bad feeling but in the end he was right because Mrs. Allen got mad and took all of there books and trust was lost with Samuel.
- A Yankee soldier shot Hubbard and almost immediately passed out in the field while he was trying to get Friday out of the field to save him from being brought to the auction and being bought further south.
- Friday/ Samuel found a job with a white doctor who finds soldiers with address and makes them look nice to be sent back to the families.
- While Friday was looking for work he found Celia and Sarah who told him that they were here with Hubbard. After they got enough money to go east, Friday brought his brother and they all went in a wagon east.
