- In 1787, the framers met in Philadelphia to revise and rewrite the failed Articles of Confederation.
- We the People, of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty....
- I just love presiding over such clever men!
- They came prepared with certain ideas and political principles they wanted to include..
- We need to separate the power over three branches.
- We need a way to check the other branches and limit their powers!
- We need federalism so the states still have power!
- In fact, they had plenty of other earlier documents full of great ideas.

- Don't worry, amendments must be approved by both houses of Congress and 3/4 of the states.
