Hello, my name is Jacques Charles, and I am known for creating the Charles Law. I was born and raised in Beaugency, France and I have been working in France my whole life
The main reason why I discovered my law, was because in 1787, France was going through some hard times with the French Revolution, so I decided to stay in my home and complete some investigations
I completed most of my investigations during the winter of 1787, where I studied gasses like oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide, which led to my creation of the Charles Law
The Charles Law states that volume is directly proportional to temperature, as long as pressure is constant. The formula for my law is V1/T1 = V2/T2, where V=volume and T=temperature
The Charles Law is still relevant today because it is used to determine the thermal expansion of gas, which can actually be connected to many different things that humans do
There are many different everyday activities that are connected to the Charles Law. Some examples include Hot Air Balloons, Turkey Timer. Pumping a Ping Pong Ball. and Tire PressureAs you can tell, the Charles Law is very helpful to understand many things and it is a key figure in everyday life
