I learned that the main goal of an Early Intervention Program is to help families working with their children who need special services due to disabilities or developmental delays make progress.
I learned that Early Intervention Program services need to be provided in natural environments like homes, playgrounds, restaurants, supermarkets, etc., and incorporate a child's routine.
Individualized Family Service Plan is reviewed at six month and evaluate once a year.
I learned that during the first  Individualized.Family Service Plan meeting, parents will be asked to choose an Ongoing Service Coordinator responsible for monitoring and helping parents understand/go through the process and their rights.
I learned that the process of an early intervention involved (1) referral, (2) Initial Service Coordinator, (3) evaluation, (4) The IFSP meeting, (5) IFSP Review Six Months, Evaluate Annually, (6) Transition. It's somewhat similar to the Special Education Process.
I learned that during the IFSP Meeting, they monitor a child in these areas of development: Cognitive, Physical, Communication, Social/emotional, and Adaptive development, similar to IEP.
