- Workers of the world, unite!
- You cannot make a revolution in white gloves.
- In the 19th century, the Industrialization started. Working conditions were poor and even children had to work up to 14 hours a day in factories or mines.
- Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.
- In 1848, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote the "Communist Manifesto", outlining the principles of how the working class should rule.

- In 1917, the October Revolution in Russia produced the Soviet Union, led by Vladimir Lenin, Leo Trotzki and Joseph Stalin. After Lenins death, Stalin assasinated Trotzki and became absolute dictator.
- The communist revolution spread to China. Its leader was Mao Zedong. After WWII, China became a communist nation.
- In 1953, Fidel Castro and "Che" Guevara started the Cuban revolution and turned the island into a communist state. During the Cuban missile crisis in 1962, the world was on the brink of nuclear war.
- After the fall of the Berlin wall, the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. The Cold war between the USSR and USA ended peacefully.
