Hi! I am Jordyn and I know a few things about my heritage, but not many.
I come from an extensive line of Jewish tradition, some of my ancestors are from Russia and Poland, and we always celebrate holidays with family and friends.
I wonder who would know more information.
Hi Aunt Robin! Would you mind telling me about what types of people my ancestors were? I want to learn more about them.
Of course, honey! Your Great grandfather, Wilfred Birnbaum was truly an amazing man. We used to celebrate every Jewish holiday at his house and your great grandmother, Bernice Epstein, would cook for an army of people.
"Your Great grandparents truly were great people. They always said that no one should ever be alone on a Jewish holiday. Wilfred also would have a small gift for ever child during cedar. He would sing in Hebrew as he lead the cedar and his voice was angelic whether it was in the dining room or in the front of our synagogue".
Wow. They really were great people. I bet Grammy would know more
Hi Grammy! Could you tell me about your parents?
Sure sweetie!
"My dad, Wilfred Birnbaum was a deeply religious man. He went to synagogue very regularly, kept a kosher home, davened (prayed) at home and could speak Hebrew fluently. He first worked for StanleySvea Oil and Building Company, and then became a full time cantar. Him and my mother were very religious; However, when they met your Christian father, they loved him regardless of his religion. They were friendly and kind to everyone.
