I don't agree, but you can say that because we have the right of free speech!
The Second Amendment
GET OUT OF MY LAND REDCOAT!
OK!
Third Amendment
LET ME LIVE IN YOUR HOUSE!
Under the third amendment I don't have to!
By being able to express themselves freely without fear, and with freedom of speech, press, religion and assembly, people could share their beliefs and opinions. This makes the government more responsive to its people.
Fourth Amendment
I'm going to search your land without a warrant!
The second amendment was important during the revolution because they didn’t know when, where, or if the British would attack so they always needed their firearms ready.
Eight Amendment
Your punishment for stealing bread is a fine of $1,000,000!
This amendment was important when it was drafted because it made sure soldiers couldn’t abuse their powers in war and take over citizens property. The citizen's privacy is also protected.
Ninth Amendment
You can't have blue hair!
The fourth amendment was important so the government can’t abuse their powers and violate the citizen's privacy without probable cause or a warrant. By doing this it protected the citizen's personal dignity and freedom.
Because of the Bill of Rights you can't do that!
The eight amendment was important because it made sure that a democratic government is never cruel and doesn’t abuse its powers by making people pay large sums of money for small crimes or impose cruel and unusual punishment.
But your honor, the eight amendment makes it so you can't make people pay large sums of money for a small crime!
The ninth amendment represents a core part of democracy itself. It allows citizens to live their lives as they choose, and a democratic government can’t restrict that.
