- A brief introduction about myself.
- My leadership style is transactional with a focus on coaching. Transactional leadership focuses on rewards and punishment to motivate and direct followers focusing on the importance of structure, organization, supervision, performance, and outcomes (Cherry, 2022). I appreciate structure, members are rewarded when a job is well done, and members are reprimanded when goals are not achieved in a timely manner. With that I also like to serve as a coach. A coach aims to build strong relationships, address the unique needs of individuals, and has many one-on-one converstations to build a stronger relationship with followers (What is the coaching leadership style?, 2022).
- The expectations for my followers are extremely high and I will ensure the expectations are met. I am a strong minded individual and I do not accept subpar work from anyone. I expect people to show up on time, in the correct attire, and perform their tasks to completion without slacking off. I encourage taking breaks, working together, and allowing things to happen organically but when push comes to shove I expect people to step up and accomplish the task at hand. I fully expect my followers to move on and move up. I do not want them to stay with me forever because I am building future leaders, not future followers.
- I imagine the team being the best electricians any aviation command has ever seen. These followers will be the most qualified with the shortest turnaround time while being the standards others want to emulate.
