- The old lady named Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones found out that the boy's name was Roger, and she took him to her house to clean him up and give him something to eat.

- When Roger went to wash his hands he thought about escaping since the door of the house was open, but he decided to gain Mrs. Jones' turst again since she's giving him a second chance.

- Why did you try stealing my pocketbook? Were you or are you hungry?Isn't there any adults at home?
- Mr. Jones wanted to figure out the reason behind Roger's roberry attempt and it turned out that he wanted to buy blue suede shoes and it wasn't for an essential need. Also, Mrs. Jones started preparing the dinner and left her purse on the table in front of Roger without keeping an eye on him which shows that trust is being built between them.
- No, I didn't try to steal your pocketbook because of my hunger and there isn't any adults at home. I was trying to get enough money to buy blue suede shoes.

- When I was younger I wanted to have things that I couldn't afford, and i won't say but, I actaully did some pretty bad things to get those things.Even though we have that in common I want you to never rob again because shoes got by devilish ways will burn your feet.

- After Mrs. Jones taught Roger this important lesson she let him leave her house and she gave him 10 bucks to get the blue suede shoes he so desperately wanted. And Roger wanted to say more than just Thank you Ma'am but he was hesitant.
