- Hey Jake what's up!
- Nothing much, did you finish the homework?
- I didn't do it because I've just been super busy
- I don't want to get in trouble. You did not even ask if it was okay beforehand.

- Quit being a baby, it doesn't matter that much.
- By the definition, Consent means "giving permission for something to happen or agreeing to do something."
- Hey Jake what's up!
- Nothing much, did you finish the homework?
- The true meaning of this is that if you ask another person's permission to do something and they say they do not want too, then you respect their decision of not giving that consent. As you can see in the above slide, Leila looks unsure of what to say and clearly is not in agreement with Jake.
- I am going to say no because I do not want to get into trouble.
- Could I copy off of yours? I did not complete mine.
- Here we can see that consent was not authorized here and Jake took something of Leila's when she did not say that he could. He caused her to feel upset and violated that he did something without asking. These 3 comic strips above represent an example of what IS NOT consent.
- Thank your for respecting my decision Jake. Now lets go to lunch!
- Thats okay Leila. I respect your decision not to share your homework with me.

- After reading through the first few comics strips and seeing a representation of what consent does not look like, here is an example of what it does look like.
- As you can see, there is a calm conversation between the 2 individuals and respect being exchanged between both people. Jake is asking for permission before doing something, and Leila says she is not comfortable with it. There is clear communication going on.
- Jake did not force Leila to give him her homework answers and instead chose to respect her decision to say no. Saying no to something you are uncomfortable with is okay. Never feel guilty for saying no.
