Lemme tell you a story. The story of how I ended up here in this place. How I was wrongly accused of being a mad man.
I was working for a sweet old man. Taking care of him. I genuinely liked the man. But he had one eye larger than the other. An eye that wanted to kill.
An eye that is always staring at me, watching me, following my every move to plan an attack. I was never safe around it.
The only way I could protect myself from its evil intentions was to kill it, kill the source, kill the old man.
I snuck into his room at night when he was asleep, ready to do what had to be done. Would a mad man be so careful? But his eyes were closed and the old man looked too innocent to touch, like a flower. I couldn't kill him like this. So I decided to leave and find another way.
But I was too loud and the old man woke up frightened and turned the lights on.
Who's there?
*Crack*
I turned around only to be met with his eye. The demon, the evil, the destroyer. I wouldn't let it live another day.
What are you doing in here?
I pulled the old man to the floor and grabbed a pillow, smothering him until he took his last breath.
AHHHHHHH!
Relief washed over me once I knew the old man was dead. The eye was dead. I felt like I won, I defeated the evil. Nothing could hurt me now. I threw the old man's body in the closet to keep it safe and conceal it.
I went downstairs to sit in the living room and relax because now I was safe and I could live comfortably.
Until I heard an unsettling sound. The sound of a heartbeat coming from upstairs. The closet maybe? No, it couldn't be! I killed the man. But what if the eye came back for me?
*Thump*
*Thump*
*Thump*
My whole body shook with fear as the beats got louder and louder.
*Thump*
*Thump*
*Thump*
Enough! This had gone on for too long. I had to be separated from the evil, forever. Locked up and safe where no one could touch me. Not even the demon eye.
I ran up the stairs as fast as lightning with my cell phone in hand. Ready to turn myself in.
I took the body out of the closet and laid it on the floor. Then I called the police and confessed my crime.
911, What is your emergency?
Police! Police! Please save me! I've done a terrible thing.
The police showed up and handcuffed me to take me to prison, where I will spend the rest of my life safe from the eye.
Please officer, get me out of here now!
And that's how I ended up here in this cold and lonely place.
I thought I'd be happy here. But the eye lives on. It lives in my dreams and my thoughts. In a place where I can never escape from it.
Well that's it for me. Now that you know I'm not a mad man, I must sleep as it is night time and I am old and very tired. So long and goodnight.
I drift into a state of rest to meet with my worse nightmare that haunts me every night for the rest of my life. The spirit of the demon eye.
