- The animals are waiting for thier owners to come home.
- When the garage door opens, the animals most likely wont have any reaction or pay attention because its a neutral stimulus and theres no reponse.
- This would be the unconditioned stimulus since it occurrs naturally. The reaction of the animals would be an unconditioned response since they get excited when seeing a person. They also know that they will get a treat for waiting paitiently for their owners.
- Once their owners arrive the animals will become happy and greet them at the door.
- The animals are waiting for their owners to come home once again.
- This would be the neutral stimulus turning into the conditioned stimulus since the neutral stimulus is associated with the unconditioned stimulus. After some time the animals have learned thwat their owners will enter home once the garage door opens. This causes the animals to respond and become happy which is their unconditioned response.
- once the garage door opens the animals will get excited since they know their owners are home.
- The neutral response has officially changed to the conditioned stimulus and the animals response, getting excited, has been changed to the conditioned response. The animals will wait anxiously to greet their owners and to recieve a treat since they heard the garage door open.
- Now whenever the garage door opens, the animals will get excited.
