  • OH MY GOD I KEEP DYING!!!
  • Boy! Stop screaming and come downstairs and play monopoly.
  • Yes mom
  • Yeah mom it's fun because I'm winning
  • See isn't this fun
  • Since the 1980’s parents have often blamed video games for their kid's violent and disobedient behavior. For the last forty years, scientists have been doing tests and experiments to see if violent video games lead to aggressive and violent behavior. These experiments often include the white noise test and the hot sauce test. This is stated in the article “Blame Game: Video Games Do Not Cause Violence.” this article also notes the difference between violent video games and peaceful video games is the difficulty that would make people angry. This article states they made some friendly games harder, and the outcome would be different as in the people would be mad over a friendly video game early because it was hard. This is the same idea as playing Mario Kart with your brother and him being angry that you beat him. In conclusion, it isn’t the violence in video games that make people violent it is the difficulty and competitive aspect that makes people angry.
  • Ha you landed on my property that's 400 dollars
  • Fine.
  • The competitive aspect of video games isn’t even to blame for the violent behavior. Extensive research into the esports community shows that the leagues generally have consequences for committing crimes and lashing out at teammates during tournaments and games. Esports is the most competitive type of gaming globally, and they must know how to keep their cool to win games that usually have life-changing money on the line. Knowing this information, you think these players would be crazy for losing games, but they manage to keep calm and not lash out. Therefore kids being angry over violent video games or the effect of violent video games is invalid due to these players playing violent video games and having no issues. Therefore, video games' competitive and violent aspect does not affect kids' and adults' thought processes about violence. This evidence concludes violent video games do not make children violent and aggressive.
  • Yes you landed on my property again
  • Fine.
  • Parents should allow their kids to play violent video games because they don’t cause violence. My reasoning behind this is because in the article “Do Video Games Lead to Violence,” the report states that violent behavior among people decreased when a popular violent video game was released. The article also said violent video games reduce socially violent behavior. The report stated that violent video games kept kids and teens off the streets and from doing illegal activities or getting into the wrong crowd. Additional research from TedTalk also showed that video games make kids more intelligent because they have to multitask, strategize, and learn to communicate through voice chat. Video games also increase fluid intelligence, a problem-solving skill that is extremely useful in adult life. Gamification is a term to describe things made to seem like a video game, so people who are a lot more familiar with video games would be better with the changing world. Therefore kids who are more familiar with video games and the skills that come with them will be successful. This information shows violent video games are more a positive benefit than a negative effect.
  • I quit
  • Studies show that video games do contribute to violent and aggressive behavior. The article “Study Confirms Link Between Violent Video Games and Physical Aggression'' has multiple studies showing that video games cause violent and aggressive behavior. One test from the article indicates that 17,000 children ages 9-19 had an increase in violent behavior over time. The report also stated that children who played violent video games were more likely to get in fights and be sent to the principal's office within eight months. This would lead to the assumption that violent video games would lead to a higher probability of a child committing a violent crime or just a crime in general. Violent video games don’t increase criminal behaviors, only aggression towards people. This aggression can become more significant, like fighting or hurting classmates. Therefore video games cause violence and shouldn’t be played by children.
  • Since the release of video games, parents have always believed that they will make more children violent. This can often be perceived as accurate due to kids always screaming and throwing things after losing a game. Violent video games are changing kids' minds due to gore and violence. Violence has been shown to change the way people think and act, especially when displayed on tv and in video games. Video games are causing children to act out violently and behave aggressively. This was demonstrated in the article “Blame Game Video Games Do Not Lead to Violence” when researchers tried the hot sauce test and white noise test to test the aggressive behavior of the people that played violent video games. The people that played violent video games always turned up and played the white noise longer than people who didn’t play the violent video game. Children and adults who played violent video games also put more hot sauce in a cup than people who didn’t play violent video games.
  • Video games leading to violence have constantly been debunked for 50 years. In a TedTalk, the spokesperson stated that violent video games would only affect people with no control over themselves and children predisposed exposed to violence. Keeping this statement in mind, children who are raised well and in control of their emotions wouldn’t be affected by violent video games. “Blame Game: Video Games Do Not Cause Violence” stated that the white noise test was not practical because people who played violent video games played the noise only milliseconds longer. They also made peaceful games difficult on purpose and found the same results as people playing violent video games. In conclusion, violent video games don’t cause violence. Instead, it is the competitiveness of people that causes aggression and violence. This statement can be backed up by famous pro athletes fighting during games because the competition is high. This is the equivalent of playing monopoly with a competitive family and someone being mad that they lost. In conclusion, parents should allow their children to play violent video games because they don’t cause violence.
