- At the hospital after the fire
- in the car on the way home
- At rumble
- After the fire Johnny was in good condition considering the circumstances. He only had a broken arm and some second-degree burns. While Johnny was sleeping Ponyboy sat next to him the whole time with just some minor burns and scratches .
- In the hospital after the rumble
- After escaping the paparazzi Ponyboy and the boys headed straight home. They left Johnny at the hospital while he recovers, so they were all a little nervous, on top of that the rumble was tonight, the car was silent all the way home.
- Back at home
- At the rumble the Socs were just as nervous as the greasers but in the end the greasers somehow ended up winning but it wasn't easy. Ponyboy had a broken nose but it ended up helping him and Dally visit Johnny, so he didn't complain.
- Leaving the hospital with Johnny
- When Ponyboy and Dally got there Johnny was awake and fine besides his arm. Ponyboy and Dally were so relieved they almost hugged him. He still needed to stay at the hospital for a while but, they didn't care all that mattered was that he was ok.
- After a while with Johnny, Dally and ponyboy decided to head home. When they got there they found everybody gathered around in Ponyboy's living room with some kind of injury and some of them even asleep. Happy but tired the greasers celebrated the rumble and the fact Johnny was ok.
- As Ponyboy, Sodapop, and Johnny were leaving the hospital Johnny realized that this story could've ended a lot worse and that he was lucky he still had Johnny.
