- Yeah, it is Lewis.
- Lewis and Clark were the first official explorers in Kansas. They thought the land was beautiful.
- Zebulon Pike
- Zebulon Pike was the second official explorer to visit Kansas. He traveled on foot and called Kansas "The Great American Desert".

- Stephen Long
- Stephen Long was another explorer that explored Kansas. He agreed with Pike and also called it "The Great American Desert".

- Jefferson made a speech about moving the Native Americans. He got everyone to believe that the natives were bad.

- The Savages arevery bad and should be moved, because we are better than them.
- The U.S. forces the Native Americans to move to the Kansas area. This made it very difficult for the tribes to live, like unknown food, rivalries with other tribes, and harsh seasons
