- The Cell Theory:All organisms are composed of one or more cells.The cell is the basic unit of structure and organization in organisms. All cells come from preexisting cells.
- Okay class, today we are going to be learning about cells, and the history of the cell theory.

- We will begin our lesson from Zacharias Janssen. He came up with the first compound handheld microscope and telescope. Around this time, microscopes became a popular item, and everyone wanted one.

- Next we will be learning about Anton van Leeuwenhoek. He was a dutch man who learned about microscopes and was fascinated. He made his own and examined his teeth with it. This is how the discovery of bacteria was made. He called them "animalcules," because to him, they looked like little animals.

- Anton van Leeuwenhoek then shared his studies in letters with this man, Robert Hooke. Hooke made various discoveries in physics, chemistry, and biology. Hooke created the term "the cell."
- Hooke made one big mistake however, his hatred and tense relationship with Isaac Newton. Newton, who discovered gravity was one thing keeping Hooke from getting famously noticed.
