- (N.) a fixed amount of a product officially allowed to each person during a time of shortage, as in wartime or famine.
- (N.) Abbreviation of Schutzaffel or "Protection Squad." The S.S. were originally Hitler's own bodyguards and became the elite soldiers of the Nazi Party. They oversaw the police and were involved in running the concentration camps.
