- While George and Lennie were walking to the bunkhouse after playing the horseshoe game with the guys, Curley came up to them. Curley looked suspicious. Curley proceeded to look at them and said, "Say have any of you guys seen my wife? She said she was gonna cool down in the barn." George and Lennie both looked at each other. George looked at Curley and responded, "No, we've been keeping away from her."
- After being in the bunk for a while with Candy, George finally speaks. "I'm tired of this place and having Curley come up to me asking about his troublesome wife," George said, "Let's go, we already have the money." Lennie asks, "Go where George?" George responds with, "To the fatta da land, where else." Lennie grew happy along with Candy.
- George, Lennie, and Candy left the ranch with no word in search of their future. They made their way into the woods. They went to seek a better life with absolutely no problems at all. A life with each other. A life with rabbits.
