- I think I will go visit Mademoiselle Reisz.
- Are you sure you do not want to stay for dinner?
- Edna it seems as if you do not have a soul that dares and defies.
- Does that quality have to do with being unsure of what to do?
- After receiving the note from Robert, Edna felt conflicting thoughts on what she was to do. She decided that it was in her best interest to go visit Mademoiselle Reisz as she always did when she was faced with a new obstacle in her life.
- What will come of Robert? I assure you need to speak to him.
- I will be doing that just as I leave.
- On her walk to Mademoiselle Reisz's house, she was reflecting on all that had been happening in such a short time. She realized that time was not on her side and she needed to slow down what her heart and the sea were calling of her.
- How will I tell Robert that I loved the idea of him?
- When Edna arrives at her house and explains that she does not know what to do, Reisz is very opinionated on who Edna is. She determines that Edna does not have what it takes to remain on this cautionary path she is taking.
- Robert, I am sorry for confessing a love that had no real value.
- Mademoiselle Reisz determined that Madame was a foolish woman who was not going to be able to have a fulfilled life if she was always confused and so on.
- Edna was on her way to the garden in the suburbs where she had last seen Robert. She hoped that she was destined to see him by accident again as she had said before.
- To no surprise, Edna was able to find Robert. He enthusiastically greeted her by giving her a kiss on the cheek. She no longer entertained that and stepped to the side. Things were now different.
