How Maui slowed the Sun
Storyboard Tekst
- Maui told his brothers his plan to slow the sun. They didn't like it but they still helped cut and plait the flax to make strong ropes.
- After cutting the flax the five of them started plaiting it while Maui chanted the karakia.
- When the ropes were ready they set off to catch the Sun. They only travelled at night for they did not want the Sun to know.
- At last, the five brothers reached their destination. Maui told his brothers to hold on to the Sun with their ropes while he strikes the Sun with his hook to make him slower.
- Finally, the Sun gave up. It was now weak and tired so moved slowly during the day. Now days are longer and people can get stuff done.
