- I wish I was rich!
- Exposition: Mathilde is unhappy with her life because she belives she was ment to be rich.
- Conflict Introduced: They get an invitation to a ball but Mathilde doesn't want to go becuse she is too poor to get somthing fancy.
- I do but I haven't a thing to wear.
- Well you are going to have to find a different couple because I am not going!
- I got us an invitation to the ball!
- But I thought you like this sort of thing?
- Rising Action: Mathilde borrows Mme. Forest necklace, buys a dress and goes to the ball.
- I have a dress for the ball but I have no jewels to go with it.
- Well this one will do just fine!
- Oh no problem! I have plenty. Here, do you see any you might like.
- Climax: She loses her friends necklace
- Goodbye everyone!
- 10 minutes later...
- oh no! The necklace, it's gone!
- Falling action: They end up poor and work hard for 10 years trying to pay off the debt of replacing the necklace.
- I am tired of this! My hands are all red and worn from all this.
- Resolution: She admits to losing the necklace 10 years later only to find out that the original was only worth 500 franks.
- Why yes I do. why might you ask?
- Oh, you poor thing! I wish you would have told me. The original was only worth 500 franks.
- Well I somehow lost the nechlace on my way home so we decided to replace it. We have been poor ever since.
- Do you happen to remember that necklace you lent me 10 years ago for the ball?
