- Hi my name is Katie Marsh and I am here in the Amazon Rain forest with conservationlist Chad Dandy. Chad would you like to explain why were here today?
- Well Katie today I am here to let people know what is happening to this great rainforest. It is being cut down acre by acre until one day there is going to be nothing left to cut.
- Explain what is happening exactly to the forest.
- Over the years many different companies have cut down part of the forest for towns,homes, and logging
- Now did this used to be forest?
- Yes in fact it was but now the trees have been cut away and replaced with pavement. Sooner or later the world will completly remove the rainforest.
- What are some of the downfalls to cutting down the Amazon?
- For one many animals will lose their home and ecosystems Another downfall is the trees produce a large amount of the worlds oxygen.
- Now is there any solution to this problem is anybody doing anything to stop this?
- The U.N is putting a lot of effort to regulate the logging of the Amazon rain forest, and since the problem has gotten more attention people from other countries are donating money to replant trees and stop deforestation.
