- A scientific question is a question like the one Jessica asked.
- The scientific method has six steps: The first is to ask a question.
- What if Brandon doesn't text me back?
- Hmmm... What if we poured soda on a corroded car battery?
- We need to think of a scientificquestion, Becky.
- The second step is to form a hyposthesis.
- I think it'll just slide off or make it sticky.
- A hypothesis is a theory on certain event.
- Well, I think it'll eat away the corrosion.
- Welcome to The Lab! Where we will perform our third step: Experiments!
- In an experiment, you test your hypothesis on your topic.
- How long is this gonna take?
- It's fizzing and eating away the corrosion!
- The fourth step is to observe the product of the experiment
- An observation is where you watch the events unfold.
- Not completely, it's eaten most away, though.
- Zzzz...
- Now they need analyze, or think about, what has happened while I go get Becky
- The fifth step is to analyze your findings
- That means my hypothesis was correct.
- So the soda ate away the corrosion after fizzing up
- Finally, they need to form a conclusion based on their findings.
- The sixth and final step is to form a conclusion
- But that's the whole point of the scientific method.
- Since the soda ate away the corrosion, we can confirm my hypothesis
- That means mine was wrong..
