- The problems were that some people said that many priests were ignorant of even the most fundamental catholic doctrine.
- One common method the church used to raise money was the sale of indulgences, a relaxation of penalties for sins people had committed
- Some believed that the pope were ignoring his ecclesiastical duties and getting too involved in politics
- I disagreed for instance, that people should donate money to the church or do acts of charity, I believed that people’s souls would be rescued as long as they followed the Bible and trusted god.

- I wrote the Ninety - Five Theses, my objections were copied and distributed to other German states by virtue of the printing press.
- I also believed that anyone may be in direct communication with god. Priests were not necessary for people to communicate with god.

- I was a reformer, I emphasized the value of leading a moral life and abiding by gods commands. I outlawed various types of entertainment like dancing and playing cards, since they believed that people were inherently evil.
- They believed that people were diverted from religion by these persuits. I aspired to establish Geneva as a model of Christian city for the community.
