- Oh no!What am I supposed to wear on such a grand occasion.I don't have anything to wear,
- Matilda!We have been invited to a special occasion.The minister of public instruction has invited us!!
- Forestier! I would like a favor from you. Could i borrow a piece of jewelry, perhaps a necklace, for a while?
- Sure Matilda!!You can take whichever necklace u like!!
- Matilda, ungrateful woman who dreams of having all the luxury presents. One day, her husband comes home with an invitation to a grand party. But Matilda is unhappy as she doesn't have anything to wear. Then, matilda gets an idea to ask one of her friends, Mme Forestier for necklace.
- Oh no! I have lost the necklace that I borrowed from Forestier.
- Oh no! Tell Forestier that you will give the necklace by next week due to some damage.I will try to buy a new one to replace it.
- The next day, Matilda goes to Mme Forestier's house to ask her for a necklace that she could borrow for the party. Forestier agreed to give her the necklace.
- On the day of the Grand Party, Matilda felt really joyful and elegant as she looked the prettiest out of all.
- Oh Matilda! You should've told this to me before. My necklace was not made of real diamonds.
- Forestier! I am sorry. I should have told this to you before, but the necklace we gave you was replaced as I lost your necklace. Due to this, I had been in debt for a decade.
- After the party, Matilda realized that she had lost the necklace and was very upset. Mr. Loisel decided to buy a new one from a jewelry store and replace the necklace. But that would put them in a great amount of debt.
- After a decade of working in various places and struggling to live in manageable conditions, they finally paid off all the debt.
- One day Matilda ran into Mme Forestier, and matilda decided to tell her the truth. Forestier was shocked the hear the truth and told Matilda that the necklace which she gave was a duplicate and not made of real diamonds.
