- She arrives and is suffering with malnutrition. She's confuse on why her mother would leave if she loves her.
- How could she leave me if she loved me.
- The Hubermanns house is small with several rooms, a kitchen, and a basement. In this house hold she realized that there was a lot of profanity that would go on and they would use words like Saumensch, Saukerl, or Arschloch.

- Hans is a painter and plays piano accordion and Rosa does laundry for 5 prosperous Molching families . She also is a terrible cook and irritates everyone she come in contact with. After months of being there Rosa tells her to call her mama and call Hans papa.
- The first few months were hard she Liesel would wake up screaming after dreaming about her brother. But Hans would always come in to comfort her.
- Liesel has never been good with school and is feeling ver lonely. Hans has a 4th grade education and Rosa has a 3rd grade education.
- Rosa always talks bad about her clients about how their rich and she doesn't like it. She often has Liesel go pick up or take the laundry. Rosa is in a feud with Frau Holtzapfel. Holtzapfel spits on Rosa's door every night and makes Liesel clean it.
