- France Colonized Haiti for its resources. They enslaved thousands of Africans for labor work. The French looked forward to making a large profit over mercantilism.

- The colonies(Haiti) would trade natural good with the colonizer(France) for manufactured goods.

- Toussaint L'Ouverture grew up as a slave working on a plantation. He was a very smart person with a brave spirit.
- End of Slavery in Haiti
- After years of working at a plantation as an enslaved person, and working up the heterarchy level by level, Toussaint eventually began to run his own plantations.
- Toussaint leads a rebellion and he and the enslaved people burn down many plantations.
- With Toussaint's leadership people in Haiti were no-longer slaves. Unfortunately Toussaint didn't live to see that day.
- Here lies Toussaint L'Ouverture, he lived a very impactful life.......
- I wish Toussaint could have seen us become free.
