- Quartering Act of 1765
- Take the house, see if I care!
- Stamp Act
- I'm not paying for that! You'd bet I'm crazy if you think I will.
- Declaratory Act
- HAAA!!! Now they will never deny us.
- To make up for the debt of the French and Indian War, Britain made a law that required colonists to care for British soldiers by giving them food, drink, and shelter. This is important because it is one of the laws that creates an outrage on the Colonial side about their rights and laws.
- Sons of Liberty
- Thanks for meeting up on such short notice.
- In 1765, England also created another law that taxed many paper products with stamps in the colonies. Many colonists were outraged with the decision and boycotted these items. They burned these products and tormented the tax collectors.
- Townshend Act
- I don't need one you dreadful Patriot.
- Hey buddy, get off my ship, you don't got a warrant.
- The Declaratory Act is a law that allowed Britain to tax American colonists in the same way as British areas. This law also sets the colonists off because it was made right after the repeal of the Stamp Act.
- Boston Massacre
- This is a secret revolutionary organization create by John Hancock and Samuel Adams in 1765 who rebelled against the British laws and led boycotts to stop them. These Patriots met together secretly and planned to fight against the laws.
- This law allowed British officials to search ships and homes without warrants, taxed imports, and took away the right to jury. The colonists were mad again and thought it was a violation of their rights.
- On March 5, 1770 in the city of Boston on King street, an incident known as the Boston Massacre occurred which left Bostonian's dead and injured on the cite. The accidental shooting by the British soldiers left 3 dead on the spot and 5 others injured. Two died of wounds hours later.
