- In the beginning oF the story he and his wife owned a cat named Pluto. he had a great friendship. but later he has begun drinking, his character changed as he spent time drinking.
- One night, in a drunken stupor, the narrator thinks Pluto is avoiding him, so he seizes him and cuts out one of his eyes. He is ashamed in the presence of his deed, but back then, his shame only lasted a short while. Pluto, of course, avoided the narrator and the narrator began to be irritated by this. then he tied a rope and hung pluto on the beam
- Later in the night, the house caught fire and he could only watch the house burn. months later the narrator stays at an inn and finds a cat and takes it. one day the wife calls the narrator to go to the old cellar.
- later that day the cat tries to trip the narrator, then the narrator tries to kill the cat but the wife tries to stop him but then the narrator kills his wife then the cat. later he hides the bodies in the old fireplace and covers the m in bricks.
- a couple of days later the police officers came to the building and searched around. later the narrator and the officers hear a horrible cry through the wall
- the officers looked at each other and quickly picked at the stones and found the wife's body and the cat who cried out to get revenge on the narrator
