- Jacob! Come help me prepare dinner!
- There were twin brothers by the name of Jacob and Esau. Despite being twins they were polar opposites of one another. From a young age, the two brothers also had a rivalry due to their parents having favorites. Rebekah preferred Jacob and Issac preferred Esau.
- Esau! Come out and hunt with me my son!
- One day, when Esau was returning from hunting, he realized how hungry he really was, and when he returned home he saw that Jacob had prepared soup. He begged Jacob for some soup and Jacob had an idea. He told Esau that he would give it to him if he made a deal. Esau was so hungry that he agreed to the terms. He realized he made a mistake, but he thought nothing would come of it.
- I will only give you some for your birthright!
- Brother, please give me some soup, I am famished!
- Fine, Yes, Whatever! Just give me the soup!
- Years passed after Jacob got the birthright from Esau and Issac's health had gone downhill. It was time for him to give Esau the blessing. After he sent Esau to get him some food for before he gives Esau the blessing, Rebekah overheard and went to talk to Jacob about a plan she had. Rebekah wants to get Jacob the blessing because God had told her he was the "chosen one".
- How will he know it is Esau and not me? He is not able to see me, but he will check if he is suspicious.
- You are going to go get 2 goats from the field and make some soup for your father. Give him the soup and when is done eating he will give you the blessing!
- Cover yourself in the fur of the goats. He will then believe it is Esau and not you.
- Is that you my son? Have you returned already?
- Once Jacob had completed what his mother said to do, he went into the tent to give his father the soup. Issac was surprised Esau returned so quickly and that his voice sounded different. He asked to feel the person see if was his son. After he believed it was, he ate the soup and proceed to give Jacob the blessing.
- Thank you for the wonderful meal! I will now give you the blessing
- Yes father, it is me Esau!
- Your brother deceived me!
- When Esau returned, Issac was suprised. He told Esau he had just given him a blessing. Esau immediately knew who did it and became enraged. Esau was so mad he wanted to kill Jacob. He begged and begged for any other blessing. Rebekah overheard this and sent Jacob away. He wouldn't return home for about 20 years.
- I just gave the blessing to you my son!
- I'm back father! It is Esau!
- That was not me it must have been Jacob! I'm going to kill him! Please father give me any blessing you have left!
- I'm so sorry brother! I have missed you so much!
- After 20 years of not coming home, Jacob returned with his wives and 12 sons. He was met by his brother with 400 men. Jacob was afraid that Esau was still and wanted to kill him. It was quite the opposite. The brothers met in the middle and hugged each other saying how much they missed each other. The brothers forgave each other and returned home. The End
- Oh brother, I'm sorry too! I missed you so much too!
