- In 1794, the tri-color was created. The tri-color flag also known as the french flag is blue, white, and red. The colors represent liberty, equality, and fraternity which are ideals of the French revolution.

- Many years after the flag was made the Battle of Waterloo was fought. It took place on June 18, 1815 and was fought because of Napoleons return in March and also marked the final defeat of Napoleon.

- After the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, Napoleon was exiled to the island of Elba. He was exiled because he failed to unite all of Europe under his rule.
