- The Boston Tea Party was when angry colonists dressed up as Native Americans and dumped tea out of nearby British ships in protest against the Tea Act. The Tea Act was a law passed by the British government saying that colonists could only buy tea from a British company. They were angry at the British government for not letting them have a representative in Parliament. They yelled out in protest "No Taxation Without Representation!" They were furious because this wasn't the first time the British have done this to them. Later, the British punished them harshly for doing this. They passed the Intolerable Acts.

- Slavery in the Southern colonies was even worse than in the other colonies. This was because of their high demand for cash crops. Southern colonies had perfect climate for growing cash crops. Soon, the cash crops became super popular, and there was a high demand for them. Colonists who owned land could not keep up with that much labor, and hired indentured slaves. However, indentured slaves were expensive, and left little to no room for profit. This became the start of slavery. Slaves were captured from Africa and brought to work hours with little to no food and sleep. This was way cheaper for the colonists, and they got more profit.

- When Cortez met the Aztecs, all he wanted was their gold and to conquer their land. He also wanted them to worship their God. Moctezuma, not knowing any of this at the time, welcomed Cortez to Tenochtitlan. At first they became friends, but with Cortez's intentions, they soon went to war. The Spanish conquistadors had better weapons, were immune to diseases that killed most of the Aztecs, and had horses and armor. Cortez soon conquered Aztec land, and stole all their gold. Cortez had achieved his goal.

- Common Sense was a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine. The pamphlet stated arguments for declaring independence from Britain. The main goal for this pamphlet was to turn neutral colonists to the Patriots' side. The pamphlet was super successful. It sold more than 120,000 copies. He convinced many colonists who were once neutral to turn into Patriots. This helped the Patriots a lot.

- The French and Indian War was a war where the British fought against the French and Indians, (Native Americans). The French and Indian War happened because the British wanted to conquer more land, but the land they wanted was Native American land, and the French had a major trading center there. Since the French traded with the Native Americans often, they had a good relationship, so the Native Americans supported the French and joined them in the war. The British ended up winning, and got the land. However, the Native Americans attacked colonists that got too close to their land. The British government wasted a lot of money to protect them. Because of this, the King banned colonists from going there.
- Pilgrims were people from Britain that had went on a ship called the Mayflower to escape from Britain. They looked for religious freedom, where they could worship who they wanted. When they got there they realized that the climate was super cold, and that they had short summers. It was hard for them at first, because they didn't know what to plant since their crops kept dying. With the help of Native Americans, they were able to plant a crop that grew perfectly there. They also found ways to make profit off of stuff, like shipbuilding, fishing and more. They adapted to their new home, and lived happily.
