- HI Josh. You are turning 16 in a couple of months. Have you thought about getting your drives license?

- Firstly, I am going to read the learn to drive smart book. Additionally, I will take the knowledge, road signs and street sense practice tests to ensure I am ready to ace my test. To pass the L test you have to score at least 40/50.
- Well, what is your plan to get your full BC drivers license?
- I will also be asked about my medical condition and tested on my vision.

- We have to go online to book a time and date to take the knowledge test. I will bring 2 pieces of ID, a guardian, and the money to pay for the test and class 7 license.

- Dad I passed my N test! It took me 45 minutes. Before we started the test I was asked things like where the controls are, how to use my seatbelt and when to use it. During the test I had to turn left and right, drive through an intersection, reverse the car, change lanes, park and start on a hill and merge onto the highway. I also had to parallel, angle and stall park.

- My Plan is to practice driving with a qualified supervisor. The supervisor has to be a person over 25 years old with a valid drivers license. They also will have to sit in the front seat. I will also practice driving at different times of day in various types of weather and in different areas. Finally, I will use the study guide on icbc.com to study for my N test.

- I need to be listed as a driver on the vehicle's insurance and my L must be displayed at all times. I can not drive from 12am-5am and I can only have 1 other passenger other than my supervisor
- I am not allowed to use my cellphone when I drive. I also can not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs when I am driving

- Remember Son you can only take the class 5 test if you don't get a driving prohibition in the next 2 years.
- Now in 2 years I can take the class 5 road test which takes about 1 hour and includes the same skills as my class 7 test to get my full license!

- I practiced driving a ton. I made sure I knew how to turn, change lanes, enter traffic, and park before my test.

- You still can not be under the influence of drugs and alcohol when driving. You also can not use any type of cellular device when driving. Now you are allowed to have 1 person in your car when you are driving with a supervisor. However, if there is a person that is over 25 and they have their full license you can drive as many people as your car can fit.
