- In Miigwan's coming-to story he tells how the recruiters sent strangers into the woods to find them and acted like they were normal people who needed help. A few days later, the recruiters came to take Miig and Isaac. They tried to run but it was too late.

- In frenchie's coming- to story, Frenchie tells how the recruiters came to their house and his brother Mitch sacrificed himself and got captured by the recruiters so Frenchie can continue on.

- In Wab's coming- to story she recollects on her life with a neglectful mother and how she had to fend and work for herself. While on the job, she goes to deliver a fake package and gets kidnapped, trapped, abused, and gets a cut on her face which left a scar. She was left in a freezer for 2 days before her abusers released her.
- Don't those make noise? We’d been told over and over that silence was the only way to move out here, the only way to stay alive.
- The group finds a barn to stay the night safely but when they wake up2ethey find Minerva's sleep bag empty and thats when they find out she sacrificed herself. They find jingles and they are confused.
- Sometimes you risk everything for a life worth living, even if you’re not the one that’ll be alive to live it.”
- When the recruiters brought Minerva to the residential school and connected her to the wires, she started singing with volume and pitch that caused the wires to spark and the computers to malfunction and every part in the school started to burn slowly.

- It's going to be okay Minerva
- Frenchie and the group try to res ue Minerva back after she sacrificed herself and was taken by the recruiters. The van driver shoots Minerva before they are able to rescue her. She dies inRose, Miig, and Frenchie's arm.
- Kiiwen, Frenchie. You must always go home.
