- I want to be an endoplasmic reticulum so I can produce proteins for the rest of the cell to function
- I also want to be a golgi complex so I can receive proteins and lipids from endoplasmic reticulum
- Wow! Nice choice! Because the ER is the largest organelle in the cell and is a major site of protein synthesis and transport, protein folding, lipid and steroid synthesis, carbohydrate metabolism and calcium storage
- Me too! I want to be an ER so I can serve as a site for protein synthesis for secreted and integral membrane proteins, as well as a subpopulation of cytosolic proteins
- Okay, so I'll be the rough ER so I can still be with you guys and make those proteins!
- Then who will be the smooth ER? We don't have producer of substances needed in the cell? HAHAHAHA
- So you will be our boss! HAHAHAHA
- Okay okay, I'll get that job so that there's no conflict. HAHAHAAHA
